the tearful poet

there are three types of tears—psychic, basal, and reflex.
psychic tears are caused by extreme emotions like happiness and sadness.
basal tears are made to keep the cornea lubricated.
reflex tears come out in response to something like onion, etc.
i lived by these three types of tears every day since i was born.

until i learned to write.

since then, it has become my fourth type of tears, the mitigating tears.
whenever i write i feel that pain gets less painful,
complex situations get simple,
and the heartaches get less severe.

does not necessarily mean fluids run through my cheeks
every time i create a piece.

the tears
are the words in the piece itself.
